Simply put a flat tote bag does not have any gussets, bottom gusset tote bag as a gusset just on the bottom while all side gusset tote bag has gussets on all sides of the bag.
What is a gusset? A gusset is an extra piece of fabric that makes bags roomier. It is even used to give extra strength to the bag.

Now let’s see an example of bottom gusset tote bags. These bags have an extra piece of fabric on the bottom. A tote bag with a gusset can fit more items and makes it easier to access those items.
Bottom gusset tote bags are usually used for grocery shopping, beach day, school, work, and more.
Lastly, let’s see some examples of all side gusset tote bags. These bags have extra pieces of fabric on all sides (bottom and both sides). Extra pieces of fabrics give the bag extra strength and room. We recommend using either 10 oz or 14 oz for all side gusset bags.
