Four Ways to Get Involved in Earth Day 2021

Earth Day’s goal is to “build the largest environmental movement”. Earth Day Network has more than 1 billion people who participate in Earth Day activities.

More than 192 countries participate in total, including the USA, Canada, UK, India, Australia, Ireland, South Africa and New Zealand. Gallant’s Reusable shopping bags help protect and preserve the environment on earth day and everyday.

Earth Day Network aims for Earth Day to be a day of political action, awareness and participation. People around the globe will be participating in events, marching, meeting with political leaders, planting trees, cleaning up trash and spreading the message of the importance of taking care of our Earth.

The 2019 Earth Day theme is Protecting Our Species. The focus is on protecting and saving crucial endangered animals, like bees, giraffes, coral reefs, whales and elephants. Without these animals, like bees, our ecosystems will cease to exist as we know it. The rate of these extinctions can come to a halt if we all work together for environmental and climate change action.

How is Gallant International Celebrating Earth Day?

Here at Gallant International, we treat every day like Earth Day. By using only organic cotton to make our custom tote, zipper pouches, and other products, we protect the land, animals, and humans against harmful pesticides and lessen our environmental footprint.

We also partner with UPS to offset our carbon emissions produced by our shipping. All of our products are also GOTS certified, aiding in our environmental protection. Under GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard), the use of toxic chemicals is prohibited, as well as harmful environmental acts like dumping of dyes into nearby waterways.

Purchase of custom printed canvas tote bags from Gallant is a purchase that benefits farmers, workers, the environment, and you. To celebrate Earth Day, we will be cherishing the Earth and spending extra time lessening our environmental footprint as individuals and as a company.

How Can You Get Involved?

1. Spread the Word, Tell Your Friends

Tell your friends, family and coworkers about Earth Day and this year’s theme, Protecting Our Species. Post on social media too! Use your knowledge of sustainable practices and Earth Day to share to as many people as possible.

2. Do An Act of Green

Over 2 billion Acts of Green have already been received by Earth Day Network. Create your own act, it can be anything from quitting smoking, to writing letters to politicians, to planting trees.

Submit your acts of green here: https://www.earthday.org/campaigns/campaign-for-communities/create-your-own-act-of-green/

3. Pledge to Stop Using Pesticides

Pesticides are hurting our pollinators! Bees are the most important animal in our world, they pollinate plants, including our food. Pesticides can cause bees to become confused and not return to their hives. Even pesticides that are “non-toxic” can be toxic to bees. Take the pledge to stop using pesticides to aid in the survival of our important black and yellow friends. Gallant’s reusable tote bags are organic and free of harmful pesticides and chemicals.

4. Meatless Monday

Adopt the meatless Monday trend to lessen your environmental footprint. The meat industry accounts for 20% of global emissions. By not eating meat one day a week, we can significantly lower the pollution that meat production produces. If you already participate in meatless Monday, try eliminating meat another day of the week too.
