Last year we launched our Pre-Financing Program (PFP) which allowed our farmers to purchase their non-GMO seeds. Our partners are growing the 500,000 pounds of Organic Cotton we will need this season. This year we raised the stakes and paid for our Organic Cotton UPFRONT from our farmers. This allowed them to avoid taking high-interest loans to buy seeds as many were forced to do in the past. Paying them upfront for their crop means that they grew exactly what they needed for us with little to no surplus which often had to be sold at a lower price. The profit the farmers earned from the upfront payment allowed them to live a more comfortable lifestyle without the up and downs of agricultural uncertainty. This is the most committed way we can think of to support our Organic farm partners. Each of our customers makes this commitment possible when you purchase any Gallant International products!
Our dedication to helping people does not end with our farmers. We partnered with Feeding America in 2019 and have exceeded our goal of providing 100,000 meals to families in need across America. Tony Robbins, a world authority on leadership psychology & self-help guru, matched our contribution allowing us to provide more than 227,000 meals. But we won't rest there and our goal is to double our contribution in 2020!
We also partner with UPS through their Carbon Neutral Shipping Program that directly supports projects like the Garcia River Forest in the United States, Landfill Gas projects in China & Colombia, and Wastewater Biogas-to-Energy projects in Thailand. We are continually finding ways to reduce our carbon footprint while fostering sustainable development. Just another way we are committed to a healthier planet and natural ecosystems.
In this vein of environmental accountability, we are already actively achieving 7 of the United Nation’s 14 Sustainable Development Goals! We are continually working on ways to achieve the remainder and we are thankful for your continued support.
